Wendiss 0 Posted February 14, 2006 Seems to me that almost every doc has a different program. I have read where some are on Clear liquids for one week while some are on them for four weeks. Some are on stage two for one week others for three. WOW how can this all be so different? How long were you in stage one (liquids)? How long were you in stage two (mushes)? "Just" Paul 1 Posted February 14, 2006 Go by what your doc tells you to do. Many docs are different, but they have their reasons for what they do. Use their advice and council, and follow their rules, and you will do well.

pugmum 0 Posted February 15, 2006 Wendiss, I'm right along with you, this is day 12, and my doctor said to not start mushies until week 4. I think, though, that it is pretty common to begin mushies in the third week. Of course, seeing that I did not attend medical school (!) I guess he knows what he is talking about. I did just eat a noodle from my chicken Soup. It's actually become much easier to stay on liquids to be honest. Kelli

lyndalafe 1 Posted February 15, 2006 Personally I think all doc's try to keep you away from solid food as long as possible............. however i managed to stay on clear liquids for 4 days then to creamy liquids next 5 days and was doing scrambled eggs and runny cream of wheat by end of week 2.....cause i was starving???????? JenWillwin 0 Posted April 28, 2006 Hi everyone! I am on day 17 post op and I have tried to transition to soft mushies but find it hard to do. Last night I tried to order 1 egg with 1 pancake and the actual chewing with the fear in the back of my mind of eating it too fast bothered me. So I didnt eat it and ordered "vegetable beef Soup liquid "and that was so much better. I dont have a problem with the actual food going in, I have a problem with the chewing and the fear of eating it too fast. So my lunch and dinner is still soup with soggy crackers mixed in. I am still getting about 800-1000 calories a day. Is this normal? Does anyone else out there feel the same way I do?
