bfhensen 0 Posted December 18, 2011 How soon after surgery should I expect to be able to drive?
kittyforet 50 Posted December 18, 2011 I drove 2 days later. Surgery Monday and driving short distances Wednesday. Nurse said once I was off the pain meds, I was ok to drive.
blackcadillacs5 62 Posted December 18, 2011 I was advised 2 weeks, and that was probably the only Dr. order I did follow.
B-52 7,113 Posted December 18, 2011 I drove 2 days after. Ran errands all over town. Only reason I did not drive sooner was I was comfortable spending the entire day in my LazyBoy recliner with a blanket, in front of my plasma big screen, totally zonked on my pain meds. Day 2 I was climbing the walls and had to get out of the house.
cheryl2586 3,053 Posted December 18, 2011 I drove two days after surgery with no issues
steelerfan 5 Posted December 18, 2011 I was also told I could drive as long as I wasnt taking perscription pain meds. I had no need to actually drive myself until a week after...had no problems at all.
shakey88 37 Posted December 18, 2011 I drove less than 24 hours after my surgery (I went shopping), but I did not take any pain meds. I was told only if I took the meds, would I be unable to drive!
Cindy C 150 Posted December 18, 2011 I was banded on a tuesday. Went home on wednesday. Thursday I was dehydrated and drove myself back to the hospital....25 miles!
