Mish1908 12 Posted December 18, 2011 I am getting banded on Jan 9, 2012. I will be attending my pre-op appt on 12/27/10 and EGD on 1/4/2012. Has anyone used Dr. Titus Duncan in Atlanta? I am trying to understand why I will not get my first fill until 2/24/2012. Does that seem like a long time for anyone? In researching others lapband experience, it seems that you would get your first fill 4 weeks after surgery and not 6 weeks. Anywho, I am very exciting my next chapter of my life. I have been overweight ALL my life. I am ready to see how the other side lives. I am also motivated by my upcoming marriage June 16, 2012. I wonder how much weight I will have lost by then. Good luck to everyone! This does not seem to be an easy experience. But I am so ready for the challenge. The end justifies the means!
Arzel Phenomenal Ivy 8 Posted December 18, 2011 My surgeon did not give me my 1st fill until 6 weeks post op. She wanted time for my incision to heal fully. I don't think anything is wrong with that. Right now, I'm 7 months post op and I had only had two fills. I'm at a comfront zone now. I have 4 ccs in my band and the weight just keeps coming off. To date, I have lost 63 pounds. My goal is to lose 100 pounds within a year. I just keep striving for that goal. Congratulations on your surgery date and good luck
KhadijahRose 66 Posted December 18, 2011 Congrats! I don't know why your surgeon has decided to wait till FEB to do your first fill, mine explained to me that he will fill mine to 3cc's on the table (which I'm very happy about!) but what Arzel says makes perfect sense and seems to be the popular choice for most surgeons.
