rp555888 4 Posted December 17, 2011 For the surgery I was with United Health. Under my new employer I'm with Aetna. Aetna refused to pay for my latest fill. Is this unusual or was it not coded properly by the doctor's office or something? thanks
Corrigan 75 Posted December 17, 2011 A number of people said their insurance will pay for the surgery, but not for the fills. It may be a matter of coding. You'll have to research that. Someone here with experience with insurance coding may be able to help. Many insurance policies are tailored to a companies needs and may or may not pay for fills or anything connected with weight loss.
cheryl2586 3,053 Posted December 17, 2011 I switched insurance companies after I got married because I was no longer working in the same place and had to relocate his insurance will not cover anything that has to do with bariatric surgery so I have to pay for my fills and of course finding another doctor was also a hassle but I have to pay a 200.00 program fee for what I dont know because I am only going there for fills but whatever and 100.00 for a fill so on January 4th 300.00 for probably a whole half cc because my stomach is too sensitive and cant take anymore than that at one time. Its ashame but most insurance companies if you switch and have to have adjustments they consider it pre existing and will not cover it.
