Pain Relief Medication After Lap Band Surgery ?

Recommended Posts

So i'm 2 weeks post op and doing pretty good now. Had a bout with nausea 2 days post op. My question now is what do you take for pain relief. Currently I'm taking

liquid tylenol but would like to change to pill form. I've heard you shouldn't take ibruprofen is this true or not. So what do people take?

I'm taking pills as long as I can safely swallow them. I'm taking Aleve with no problem. The problem is if it stays in your new small stomach. At your stage it should go through with no problem.

My surgeon stated I should never take aspirin or NSAIDS which include ibuprophen or aleve. She said they can really irritate your stomach. Only tylenol.

Mine said the same thing to me. I looked it up and the reason is that Ibuprofen is harsher on the stomach that Acitomitifin (spelling, but I mean Tylenol type of products). Since the pouch is small it can apparently lead to ulcers and other issues.

My doc told me that the no ibuprofen rule is for bypass patients and has no problem with me taking it. I take advil if I need it.

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
