amce123 5 Posted December 13, 2011 Good morning. Im about to leave on a trip for work, and was hoping for some insight. I started my pre-surgery diet at 201.lbs on Nov 12. Banded on November 30th - with no issues whatsoever. Weight day of surgery 193.5. I went in a week later Dec 6 for follow-up and had what the dr called a small fill. I was 187 on that day, and have been stuck at 187. I have been sticking to the diet religiously - Protein shakes (Muscle Milk lite 2 x a day), broth, sf Jello, sf pudding, nonfat- plain greek yogurt, and THATS it. All in relatively small portions 4 oz (maybe 6 oz shake & broth). Additionally, Ive been exercising - biked 6 miles a day for past few days, and have walked everyday for past week (as soon as dr said it was ok). I keep looking for the scale to drop and its stuck. Its been about a solid month since I started pre0surgery diet. Any tips? Words of wisdom? 60 lbs will take an awfully long time at this rate. HELP!!!! cheryl2586 3,053 Posted December 13, 2011 You have to understand the scale is not going to move every day and sometimes not for a few weeks its just the way it is just keep doing what your doing and it will move. You have to remember when your excersising your building muscle too have you thought about measuring yourself to see if your losing inches? All in all the scale is just not going to move every single day that is unrealistic. Your weight wasnt that high to begin with so it will take that much longer. Yes its frustrating but your body has to get adjusted to the food intake and say ok this is all Im getting time to start burning fat. You cant give up just because your not losing. It will come eventually. If everyone lost a pound a day then the whole world would be banded. It will happen 1 manda05 reacted to this
manda05 0 Posted December 13, 2011 I agree with JuniorGuru. Getting the lapband the one main thing they tell you is that it is GRADUAL weight loss, your body will lose the weight at a slower rate than other gastric surgery options. And you should DEFINITELY take your measurements. www.lapband.com you can sign up and track your entire lapband journey, you can enter in your weight everyday, and it tracks all your measurements!! Like JuniorGuru said, when you exercise you build muscle, your body may be burning fat and gaining muscle mass at the same time. Muscle weighs more than fat. Keep up the great work, you WILL see progress!!! Goodluck!!
