Hi all,

I was banded on 12/5 and the post op went well for me. I took the pain meds couple of times the first 2 days and then I didn't need. Good luck to all the upcoming Dec Bandsters!!

Kath

Hey Kath, that is awesome. I am glad things went well without any issues and you are not in pain. We will take this journey together and get through it.

welcome to the club and 12/20/08 will be my third bandiversary. Hope you all enjoy the ride and remember that everybody is different and this is a trial and error journey with the band. I still have days that sometimes chicken will go down and sometimes it will not. I love my band and it literally has saved my life. Good luck to all joining this adventure and enjoy the ride!

banded Dec 7th here. Ive lost 10 pounds in 1 wk since surgery. Very happy about that. was very excited to eat applesauce yesterday. I didnt have any of the pain that alot of the people experience. I have only had some soreness around my incision area so I havent started doing any long distance walking. Just around the house. Im going to try to gym today and see if I can get 2 miles in. Good luck ! Its a new life and you are going to love it!

Hello everyone, can I join up too? I was banded on 12/6 and am just starting to feel myself. Between the preop diet and the diet post op I felt weak as a kitten. And really hungry. But today I really am feeling much better. Last night I watched the biggest loser finale- wow- what motivation! I am still on full liquids and Proteins shakes- looking forward to chewing on something next week!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
