SkinnyMiniWannabe 0 Posted December 9, 2011 I just turned 21 today and had my surgery this past Nov 22nd. Its an amazing journey. I've only just started but it already feels like a new life. Stock up on broth and Vitamin Water. Just be sure to keep hydrated and take it easy.
terricharles 3 Posted December 9, 2011 not to be a downer.....and I am happy for every one that makes the choice to have lapband surgery.......but I know when I went though the process to get approved my insurance would not approve me at first because I was in child bearing years (I am 45, with two adult kids 18 and 24) I had to prove to them I was NOT having any more kids........so how is it you girls at 20 21 are getting though the process so easy? Any one else have that issue?

loretta\ Baconton Georgia 10 Posted December 9, 2011 I am so jealous of every one already banded. I am still appealing BCBSI decision and I can not wait to see what they have in store for me to do next.. They do not know that I will keep on and on... Any one else have that issue? I have never heard about not being allowed to be banded because you are still considering having children. I have heard some women say they are having WLS because they need to lose weight so they could have children. I know that we are told that we need to wait at least a year before trying to have children because of the effect of the weight loss on the pregnancy but that is about it. I think if I had said yes that I was planning on having more kids,my insurance would have said no to the surgery
