Lap Band And A Tongue Piercing ?

Has anyone out there who has been banded and has a tongue ring ever accidentally swallowed a barbell ball? I've only had it happen to me 2-3 times in the 6 years that I've been pierced but I'm a little freaked out by what damage could happen if it happened after surgery.

If it happened to me that many times...... I'd remove the tongue ring. Why take the chance?

Depends on the size of the barbell. If it's smaller than an aspirin it shouldn't be a problem. If its bigger you should probably leave it out.

I have had my tongue pierced for 8 years now. I have swallow the balls for tongue piercings maybe 3 times.

Sometimes they get loose and once the plastics ones are old, they more easily some undone.

I have been banded 2 years now and I can't remember if I swallow a ball since then. Maybe once? Clearly it was not a traumatizing event.

Maybe my band likes me? I am pretty friggen tight with my fill and even though food gets stuck sometimes the dreaded gum didnt get stuck when I accidentally swallowed it once either.

Maybe you should see what your doc says about this.

My advice would be to replace your barballs often, esp if they wear fast ( if they are plastic)

I would say one implant it enough and the barbell doesnt help you lose weight.... I wouldnt risk it....
