New Job, New Weight Gain

Recommended Posts

Hi, I am 1 yr post op and have 6 mls in my band. In August I started a new job and during my orientation I have been switching between day shift and night shift every few days. My eating habits are crazy trying to eat at night and then eat during the day. And now I'm just hungry all the time and I've gained 15 lbs. Does anyone have any advice on how to get back on track and to not feel hungry at all hours of night and day? I will be permanent night shift when my orientation ends.

When was your last fill? It sounds like you may need a tiny tweak.

I thought that might be it but I have been great since Feb. which was my last fill. I was only having problems recently. I actually went to my doctor and they took a look and they believe I might have a stomach ulcer. They removed all Fluid from my band nonod.gif which happened to be only 4 mls not 6 mls that we thought were in there. They didn't seem to be concerned that 2 mls were missing. But I am suffering now. I can't believe how much the band was actually controlling my hunger because now I feel like I could eat everything I see. And I am definitely struggling now. I just assumed it would be easier since my eating habits have changed and since I don't eat a lot at one time. If anyone has any advice on how to get through not having restriction that would be nice!

I would use the same logic I used during the initial post op months with minimal or basically no restriction. In a 24 hour period just have 3 meals.... 3-4 oz Protein, 1/2 c veggies and 1/4 starch 3 times a day... add a couple of low cal Snacks if needed and stick to 1000-1200 calories. Make sure to drink lots of Water and get at least 6-8 hours of sleep at a time.

Well I'm definitely trying and not being very successful... my hunger is just not controlled at all and distraction techniques are starting to not distract me. I thought it would be easier. I guess after surgery, even though we have no restriction, our stomachs are swollen and that's why my Dr. said it was easier to feel full after surgery. Now I have no restriction and my stomach is not swollen so it's a lot easier to eat more. Praying I get restriction back at my next appt.
