Hi,

My name is veronica, my surgery was in March 21st.

in my experience I really thought it was going to be painful, but I just had a few days of great time at home with my kids.

I'm up to 10cc and I just started to feel the band in my body.

My start weight was 218.

I'm 185 now. although I have lost very little I have went from size 16 to 12 and so far I feel great.

I met this lady tha lost about 50 pounds in 3 months but she is now feeling very weak and she has been admitted to the hospital once because she is not eating well.

I rather loose little by little but I hope to do better with this last adjustment.

Veronica

Most reputable programs suggest that we lose two to three pounds a week. Many of us lose more or less for

periods and sometime we stay the same for a while then lose ten lbs almost overnight, it's seldom linear.

What's important is that we average 2-3 lbs a week over a several month period. If we don't, we're eating too

much no matter what pop science says.

Corrigan,

I went thru a Center of Excellence here in Eugene, OR. It is so interesting to me how different clinics can be even within the C of E network. My surgeon told me this morning to expect no more than two pounds a week and that this month he would be happy if I maintained. I hope for losing five. I did stage one yesterday, started stage 2 today and on to stage 3 by next Saturday. I do not expect to eat much of Christmas dinner or New Year's Eve dinner but they want me on whole food by then.

My surgery went really well. I had superior care post op. I was able to stay overnight asking for more hydration and to have better pain control. Unfortunately, I watched the clock go round.

I am excited but I agree with you, the C of E is well worth the drive. I am very fortunate that it is only fifteen miles round way.

TO VERONICA:

Congratulations on your weight loss and keep on, keeping on with your journey to good health.

Melinda

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
