Corrigan 75 Posted December 2, 2011 I'm assuming you were recently banded. My minor pains lasted about 3 days. Were you given any post op instructions? I guess you know you're not to lift more than 10 lbs for about 6 weeks.
ecustrike3 0 Posted December 3, 2011 I was just banded yesterday! Any tips on how to make gas go away faster? If it would go away I would feel fine
Corrigan 75 Posted December 3, 2011 Most people find relief by walking a lot and others say windmilling your arms helps (in the privacy of your own home), some swear by GasX tabs, but time is the best cure.
Poodlelover56 2 Posted December 4, 2011 My gas pains ( mostly in my left shoulder) lasted a few weeks. Try a heating pad, move around. It will get better!! Welcome to the "other" side !!
roeroe 18 Posted December 5, 2011 the gas pain in the shoulder left after one use of the heating pad but the ones in my stomach are here with a mission. i am day three post op and my stomach is making those rumbling gas noises. i am using the gas x and drinking as much Water as i can, but it is hard to drink the water and the Protein Shakes. i am walking as much as possible also. i think just time will be the answer. good luck to you. ecustrike3 0 Posted December 5, 2011 Thanks everyone! Day 3 and I feel 1000x better! I actually got out and walked then drove to the mall! Feeling much better! I still haven't been able to sleep in the bed? I have had to sleep in recliner? Anyone else deal w this?
LB4Me 35 Posted December 5, 2011 The gas will go away. It is different for everyone. Just keep walking and taking GasX. I found that one or two of the strips helped me. Get used to the tummy grumbling and rumbling. It doesn't stop. I've gotten used to it, but there are times I am in a meeting and think everyone can hear it. I slept on a chaise lounge for about 5 days. Then I could not stand it anymore and got into bed with a pillow under my tummy. After that it was an easy transition. Good luck to both of you. PA2AK GIRL 6 Posted December 5, 2011 I am on post op day 2, I don't have mush pain except for the gas! If the gas would go away I would feel great! I am walking and moving around a lot, but I still have a belly full of gas. I have one more day of Clear Liquids and then I can progress to slushy. I am really looking forward to that. I hope everyone feels better soon!
