latinamom 9 Posted December 2, 2011 I got approved in one day. My doctor is Terry Simpson he doesn't want me to do any diet. But my question is , is it better to do one so surgery is easier .I weigh 235.
xavier 153 Posted December 2, 2011 Well it sounds like to take about ten pounds off makes the procedure easier (to get around your liver) for your surgeon and therefore less painful for you to recover from. On another note, those ten pounds will be lost for good and its the last diet you will ever be on...good luck!
Amanda61082 28 Posted December 2, 2011 My doctor told me not to loose weight either. He said the weight I loose for the 2 week pre-op liquid diet would be enough.
Shellyac 22 Posted December 2, 2011 I think even if you aren't required to do a liquid diet before surgery you should start replacing at least one meal with a Protein Drink so you at least get used to having them since they will be a part of your diet for some time to come. You can look at this as your chance to try to find which ones you like. From what I hear your tastes may change after your surgery but at least you will have an idea what to expect. 1 SumthinsGottaGive reacted to this
