AZArmyWife36 0 Posted December 2, 2011 Greetings fellow bandsters! I'm five weeks post-op and had my first fill today. My doc didn't waste any time and filled my band with 5cc's. I've been doing liquids all day and have had no hunger. I just wanted to thank everyone for the great information on what to expect throughout this journey! Wishing everyone lots of continued success!!

123crod 170 Posted December 2, 2011 I wish you all the best, but be careful with that much at one time. Sometimes it does not kick in until a couple of weeks. Mine are always good for 2 weekd and then it hits me hard. My doctor always went really slow .50 cc at a time and sometimes that was too much for me. If you find in a couple of weeks or days it is too much just go in for a very small unfill like ½ cc or less if. I go in for an unfill I make sure they understand how much I want out before they come at me with that needle Lol. But everyone is different and you might do just great, congratulations on skipping all those little fills. Cheri
54Shirley 105 Posted December 3, 2011 That's a good size fill ! So congrats, but take it slow ! Our place, when we get that big of a fill, they tell us 3 days of liquid, 2 days of Mushies, then try food. That works pretty good, so passing it along your way. So once you finally start to eat something, just take it slowly. Shirley.
Dawn200321 146 Posted December 4, 2011 My surgen did exactly the same thing to me. I was doing well too. I had lost 14 pounds in one month and even they were impressed. Said a lot of people gain in the first six weeks before thier fill. I thought for sure I would not even need one but sure enough a whole 5 CCS....I dont understand why
AZArmyWife36 0 Posted December 4, 2011 It's been two days and I' haven't felt too different. I have lost 16lbs and no gains. I wasn't too hungry but made sure to get my Protein and liquids in. I'm hoping that I'll feel restriction soon. Thanks to everyone for their input! I truly appreciate it! Keep on losing and getting healthy! :0)
k9momma56 1 Posted December 4, 2011 I wonder if it is the type of band & how many cc's it will hold as to how much they put in for fills. I have the realize 14cc band & with my first fill it was 6.5cc & I had very little restriction.I had my 2nd fill on 11-21-11 of 1cc & that little bit extra kicks butt. Poodlelover56 2 Posted December 4, 2011 I have a 10cc Allergan lapband. I had my first full the other day and the PA put in 2cc which is the standard for their office. I am feeling a little more restriction when I eat. And I have been losing every week 1/2 to 2 lbs. it was time for a fill because I was starting to have a lot more hunger following my eating plan.
