Lap Band Port Pain....

Recommended Posts

I have port pain like a pulled muscle. Has anyone else experienced this? Also, I am loving some spicy food, got some heart burn, has anyone taken Zegrid since being banded? Thanks!!

I've had that "pulling" feeling sometimes. It generally occurs when I'm too full, but if may be different for you. I could just be irritated, you never know. You don't feel like your band's slipped, right? You can still eat and such? I wouldn't worry about it too much unless it continues.

I haven't taken Zegrid, but I've taken Prilosec and other stuf like that. I think you'll be fine with Zegrid.

If your band slipped you would have had extreme pain in your chest. I experienced alot of pain when my Fiber intake was increased. I learned this after a trip to the hospital and MRI showed nothing was wrong but I could laugh walk or breath without discomfort

Good luck try changing up your diet and see if that improves it

I also have pain where my port is located. It feels like a pulled muscle. My last fill was almost 4 weeks ago and it hurts like yesterday.

My port swelling has gone down since I have been on my antibiotics. I feel lime it sticks out more though and a little apprehensive about going back to work as a cna on Sunday night cause some of my patients are 300lbs plus and I have to roll them.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
