Pain question

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone!.

I am always hearing of the golfball pain in the chest that people get. I have not really ever gotten that. I get pain on my left side. just under the breast area. Anyone else get that. Or is something wrong.

I get that pain if I eat too fast. I have the VG band and am filled to 6cc. I am not losing weight and am Hungry like an hour after eating. I take in about 1100 calories a day and I am hungry. But I get that pain on the left side. No PB's( never even had one) And I have slimed 2 times since banding. I am going in for another fill on the 28th to see if I will lose some weight after another fill.

anyone have any advice or coments. I would appreciate it.

Thanks

Oh yes, if I eat to much it feels like my ribcage on the left side is gonna blow out. I posted about this a while back and got alot of feed back that I wasn't the only one.

Just keep an eye on it because heck....you never know.

I'm sorry to be dumb but I've tried to find these answers before asking.

What's PB'ing?

What's Sliming?

I just had surgery last Wednesday and joined here this weekend.

I'm having a lot of Gas Pain in my back and chest and a big golf ball in my chest too. In addition, I'm starving. i'm ready for more then just liquids.

Cashley

I tried to cut and paste some abreviations I got from someone but it won't let me. But if you go to the main page and scroll down to the bottom and look for FAQ's & References click on that and the second Sticky says Abbreviatons & what they mean these helped me understand.

I found the post with the FAQ... thanks for the info. I'm not so sure I like the defination of those two terms the PB and Sliming sounds kind of weird - I didn't know about those things pre-op.

Cashley, PB's are "productive burps" and sliming is pretty self-explanatory...I have never had either of these things.

Your MIND is ready for more than liquids, but your body isn't. This is about not making your stomach work at all, while it is healing. I know it's tough and unpleasant, but it is temporary, and worth it. Hang in there, all of us bandsters know just how you feel!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
