hair loss...what's up with that!

Recommended Posts

qqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqCan you guys clarify what Biotin is? Is it a pill, or a topical thing you put on your hair? I'm 7 months out and I've been losing hair for about 4 weeks now. I'm just about ready to cut it all off, and it has me really bummed.

I get plenty of Protein and fat, and I've been under anesthesia many times and never lost hair, so I'm at a loss as to why I'm losing it all of the sudden. I just had my thyroid tested too, and it's fine. The hormone thing makes the most sense. I guess the reason doesn't really matter, I just want it to stop!

Thinking of going chin length and blonde... DH is gonna kill me. :D

Biotin is a B Vitamin supplement. Mine is in a very small pill. Shawn

This doesn't solve the problem from the inside but after chemotherapy my hair grew back very very thin. There is a product that I use from Spencer Forrest on the internet that has a product called hair fibers. It comes in lots of colors and you sprinkle a small amount on your thin spots and voila you can't see your scalp anymore. I think this product is the most important thing I put on everyday, even more than my makeup.... Wow, it would be a cruel act of fate if I lose more hair after being banded (3-31-06). I will think positive though and keep using my Spencer Forrest product. Hope this helps alittle.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
