MNBstar76 2 Posted November 23, 2011 I had my surgery on Thursday and I haven't had anything to eat since 11/16 (day before). I drink Water, eat Jello and Protein Shakes. What else can I do? I am starving!
CindyBklyn 4 Posted November 23, 2011 How much Protein are in your drinks? Try to get the highest amount of protein to help make this process easier. Good luck - it does get better.
Corrigan 75 Posted November 23, 2011 I bought Costso's chicken Bullion to try to get through that rough period, and it helped stave off the worst of the hunger pangs for a while. sugar free fudgesicles were a big help, along with Crystal lite. That's the best I can do. 1 MNBstar76 reacted to this
ms.demi77 0 Posted November 23, 2011 I was recommended to blend and strain lite Soup, I did that for about 2 weeks post op and then went on to puree. I also had sugar free popsicles and light yogurt smoothies. It seemed to work good for me in the beginning. My problem started with the solid's.
LB4Me 35 Posted November 23, 2011 I blended in a tbsp of LF Peanut Butter to my Protein Shakes. It upped the Protein and seemed a bit more satisfying. Someone on here had suggested getting miso Soup and straining it for the broth. I did that as well and found it satisfying.
Cazzy 725 Posted November 23, 2011 I dont normally advocate for processed food but this Soup was my saviour, it is really satisfying and taste nice, it is low carb and sugar, which i had to have while i was still diabetic, or i made my own soup with green veg and stick blended it till it was as smooth as a protien shake. MNBstar76 2 Posted November 23, 2011 Thank you guys. I have to plan my meals better. I work 12 hour shifts, so by the time my shift is winding down, I'm starving. I will take a shake to work with me tomorrow and have it around 7 and push my Breakfast back so they are 8 hours apart instead of 16.
