stacythegreat 1 Posted November 22, 2011 Feeling restriction basically means you can feel how full you get quicker. It takes way more time to eat because if you don't you will get that stuck feeling. It basically means that you can not eat as much. I'm a month post-op. I have never felt my band. I can feel the port. I sorta like being able to feel it. Sometimes I rub it for luck before sitting down for dinner or getting on the scale. LOL! I understand what happens when you get stuck but what exactly does feeling restricted feel like? Like your full? bloated?
B-52 7,113 Posted November 22, 2011 I am 2+ years and you can not feel the band, you can feel the port through the skin as you lose weight. Sometimes you can feel the food move through the band or if you get stuck you can feel when it does go through the band. Don't worry it is nothing strange and you will not be bothered by it. Cheri Same here. My port sticks out like a 1/2 golf ball under my skin. I can palpate the tube a few inches as it moves mid-line then disappears. (goes deep) I just ate a Protein bar and can feel my band with every swallow. The restriction slowed me way down unless I get stuck. As a matter of fact, I think the last swallow is still sitting there.

thebandedman 3 Posted November 23, 2011 I'm four weeks post op and have healed enough and lost enough weight to be able to feel my port under my skin with my fingers. It does not stick out or hurt or anything like that. TBM
