tamou37 2 Posted November 26, 2011 Hi yellosisi, how did you hear about Dr. Chris??? i heard lots of good things about him. I have tentative date on the 10 Dec here in Dubai where I live but might travel to Brussel to have it done earlier as I have started pre op diet on my own few days ago. Are you nerveous? I am still kind of confused little bit and thinking of the sleeve.... I need to lose 70 pounds as well.
Yellowsisi 1 Posted November 28, 2011 Hey you guys, I Have done quite a bit of research on t the lap band, balloon, plication and pose in various countries and his name kept coming up and. I also kept an eye on his success/injury/slippage and infection rate. I have only heard good things so far so I have chosen to put my future in his hands, also because it is a HOSPITAL as opposed to some back of the yard clinic or worse. I paid my deposit yesterday and booked the hotel room. I am begining to get really excited now and slightly nervous, but I am going for it. The things I considered before deciding were; Who is doing it? Where? Cost Reviews After care And of course mentainance. I really did not want to spend money on fills but then again, I did not want any thing done to my stomach i.e cutting, sewing or snipping. The lap band has the 2nd best success rate behind the gastric bypass. Also the doctors performing the sleeve, plication, balloon etc and the locations made me quite nervous indeed. I hope this helps you make your decision, good luck x.
SeanM 1 Posted November 30, 2011 Hi I'm getting the band next Thursday 1/dec, my bmi was 35 before the pre op diet, Fred just said no booze , no fats, but I've gone for a more liquid and raw diet just to make sure, ( don't want that liver getting in the way ) I have lost a few kg in the last week down do a bmi of 33. I'm getting discouraged by nearly everyone, saying I'm no so fat. I have 2 questions. Is the lab band ok for someone that doesn't eat many times a day, but when he does he doesn't stop until no more food fits?, I eat fast till I can't eat no more 2 times a day or whenever he get a chance. I rarely snack, not keen on sugars, love fats. Is a BMI of 33 to low for lap band surgery?
