Ischemia from having a tight fill?

Recommended Posts

I have been wondering about this for a while now. Could a tight or too tight fill cause ischemia? & could this lead to erosion?

ischemia - Local & temporary deficiency of blood supply due to obstruction of the circulation to a part.

Ischemia to what, the stomach? I'm not sure what you are saying. There is usually ischemia of the heart due to myocardial infarction or many other reasons, but I have never heard of ischemia of the stomach? Maybe I'm not reading your post correctly.

I think I remember the term ischemia being used in relation to a portion of the intestines...when my mom was very sick in the hospital, and had a feeding tube, and no real food for 5 months...they worried about the condition of ischemia in her digestive tract...and isn't that the same thing Sharon (Israel's PM) just had that caused them to remove 2 feet of his intestines?

Jessiebear, I have no medical training, but my gut feeling is that a very tight fill and erosions may be related. I am SURE there are other factors that play into it, but I wouldn't be surprised if you are correct.

Interesting question!

Sorry! I guess I should have worded this better.

Could a tight fill or too tight fill cause ischemia (meaning decreased blood flow to areas of the stomach)? And could this cause or possibly lead to erosion? Ever since my last fill this question keeps popping into my head. I think this is a good question for my doc! It's bugging me.

In medicine, ischemia (Greek ισχαιμία, isch- is restriction, hema or haema is blood) is a restriction in blood supply, generally due to factors in the blood vessels, with resultant damage or dysfunction of tissue. It may also be spelled ischaemia or ischæmia.

Mechanism

Rather than in hypoxia, a more general term denoting a shortage of oxygen, ischæmia is an absolute or relative shortage of the blood supply to an organ. Relative shortage means the mismatch of blood supply (oxygen delivery) and blood request for adequate oxygenation of tissue.

Ischæmia can also be described as an inadequate flow of blood to a part of the body, caused by constriction or blockage of the blood vessels supplying it.

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
