Post band pain question ~

Recommended Posts

Hi I am 1 1/2 weeks post op and have done well. Insisions are doing great and I have lost 8 pounds. BUT I have pain in my lower left side, right beside my belly button. I was told to wear a binder and to take a laxative, done this and it helped some. Last night while sleeping I turned on that side and had the worst pain almost brought me to tears. Is this normal? How long will it last? I can't bend over to pick stuff up, or lift anything heavy. I was told it was trapped air. It's not near an insision or near the port, about 6 inches below it. Any idea's on what to do to make it better? thanks

That does sound like right where your port is (It's where mine is anyways...). I couldn't lay on my side for several weeks after surgery, and it does seem to be the slowest place to heal up.

I think you're feeling port pain, but follow your instincts and call your doc if you think it's something else.

I sleep on my back, which is a good thing I think. I'm pre-band, but go to sleep on my back and wake up without a cover ruffled. I am on C-pap, so the ability to sleep on my back has been really a good thing for me. I didn't have to learn something I wasn't used to. For the side sleepers and tummy sleepers I bet there is pain involved, and we don't have any control over what we are doing when we are sleeping. I'm sure from what I've read on here that it is your port letting you know you are sleeping on it and rebelling. Good luck to you. I hope to join you soon on this journey, and I'm sure I'll be full of questions too.

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
