larpens 2 Posted November 17, 2011 I was banded on September 8th and I have had 2 fills and I'm at 6 ccs! I eat about 1200 calories a day and only 3 meals every 4-5 hours, I denied having a 3rd fill yesterday because I feel restriction but I'm not getting sick with everything that I eat. I started losing weight again and I did have 2 small pieces of pizza last night. I don't know if I have hit my green zone or if I need another fill? Am I supposed to not be able to eat any bread at all or is a very limited amount alright? Just wondering if I'm in the zone or not??
kelly75 5 Posted November 17, 2011 I can not eat any type of bread at all..I have had 2 fills and am up to 5cc..I believe i am to tight, I do have several sliming episodes if I try to eat certain things..Im self pay, so Im careful with going in for fills and unfills..I would love to be able to eat just a bite or 2 of a piece of pizza..our bodies are all different, but if u had a GOOD fill im sure u would not be able to eat the pizza
sam3841 57 Posted November 17, 2011 Everyone is different. I had like 7.5 ccs in my band and that was way too much, I was just able to eat spider but I was losing like 10 lbs a montth. When I went in for another fill which I knew I didn't need they ended up taking 1.5 ccs out. Now I have very little restriction and have been able to eat just about anything. I could usually only eat a couple bits of pizza before, but everyones experience is different but no one likes to be stuck.
karewpah 173 Posted November 17, 2011 If you can eat pizza, that doesn't mean you need a fill. I can eat everything in terms of food. Some might be more difficult than others. I would consider Pizza Crust a slider and maybe that's why you can eat 2 slices. I'd recommend hanging out here for a few weeks, at this fill level and see if you're losing. elcee 3,341 Posted November 18, 2011 I can eat 1 or 2 thin slices so long as I take it slowly. But the longer you are banded the easier it becomes. initially I would have really struggled with it.
Noturningback15 45 Posted November 18, 2011 Eating pizza doesn't mean you need a fill. I can eat anything with time. I think some people get stuck on some foods because they get tired of chewing. I think if you ate those 2 slices really fast and took big bites then you may need to get checked out...
shakey88 37 Posted November 18, 2011 I do not have a fill, but I do eat pizza...only a slice though and I chew very very carefully!
amjcal 5 Posted November 18, 2011 I eat the toppings and the crust if it is this crust only. I think I have eaten pizza 2x since July and occasional treat.
bromo 17 Posted November 18, 2011 I have no fill and have eaten pizza on a couple of occasions without any problems. I plan for it with my carbs and calories in order to fit it into that days eating plan.
stateofzen 46 Posted November 18, 2011 Your fill should be based on hunger, NOT what you can eat (unless you can't get anything down, and that's too tight). I can eat EVERYTHING. And I do, just a lot less of it That said, two pieces of normal size thin crust pizza is not a big deal for me if I budget for it in my calories. I can and do eat that much now that I'm close to goal. When I was losing, I ate one piece. Here's the question. Did you eat two pieces of pizza because you were hungry? Or did you eat two pieces of pizza because you could (not because you were hungry) and you just like pizza? If it's number one, then maybe you need a fill, though one single time isn't enough evidence in my opinion. If it's number two, then your fill is fine-- it's your choices that need some work. BaileyRose 13 Posted November 19, 2011 I can eat pizza just fine. I just chew a lot. I would say I'm close to my "green zone", but maybe not quite there yet. I have 4 cc's in my 14 cc band. Things I can't eat: steak, sausage links, corn dogs(I should have never even tried that one but I was desperate one day for lunch), pop corn.... I think that's it :-)
bobrocky 8 Posted November 19, 2011 I'm at 7.5 ccs in a large lapband. Some foods are going down a bit slowly, but I can still eat almost anything and not really getting any restriction yet. I get my 4th fill after thanskgiving and I think that will do it. I'm not losing any weight, but I'm not gaining either.
Jachut 487 Posted November 19, 2011 I have 3.8cc now in my 4cc band and I can eat bread without much problem, pizza is a little harder, but weirdly, I cant stand the thought of eating pizza now. It nauseates me, cant tolerate the smell of it, have to leave the house when the kids want it. I've had my band unfilled for 7 months and then taken 5 months to find restriction. Whilst I was unfilled, I liked pizza again, we went out one night as a family for gourmet wood fired pizza and I enjoyed it thoroughly, I would never have enjoyed crap like pizza hut much anyway, but good pizzas, yum. Then the minute I got any Fluid in my band again, instant turn off. So strange. Our pizza is a bit different here, well, compared to what we see on TV anyway. You guys seem to ahve truly enormous pieces, that are quite floppy with very cheesey topping! So when I say I can eat a piece of pizza, its not really the same thing at all, its about 1/4 the size, much crisper base, way less cheese, but more meat and vegies. Still junk food, loaded with salt, and very fattening though. But what you can eat and cant eat is totally individual and you should never measure whether or not you need a fill based on being able to eat a certain food.< /p>
123crod 170 Posted November 19, 2011 I can not eat pizza, no matter how slow I eat it it will get stuck. But I can now eat a lot of things that I could not eat before just not pizza. bread and I are just not friends anymore but thats okay I probably already ate my share for a lifetime. betheboo 40 Posted November 20, 2011 I used to base my fills on whether or not I could eat a sub sandwhich. That worked good.
