GRLZ4DUKE 0 Posted November 16, 2011 Assuming my insurance approval is finalized this week, I will have surgery in December. How long are most of you planning or how long did you wait before returning to work? It is my understanding that if you work in a sedentary position and do not have any physical activity to your job, you can return quickly. The bulk of physicians want people to take time off to become accustomed to your new diet, learn how your body reacts and simply adjust. I am fortunate since I work from home if I'm not traveling for work. I have not shared with my employer that I am having surgery since December is a slow month for us for travel activities. I prefer not to share unless required to do so. What are your thoughts?
shoofee 0 Posted November 16, 2011 I was surprised when I signed up for fmla that my doc suggested 2 weeks off, but if I get approval, I can go back earlier. My surgery is Dec 5th.
crazycard 0 Posted November 16, 2011 My dr said that if I had a job that I sat for if I had surgery on Thursday I could go back the following Monday if I was feeling up to it. But physical jobs or standing longer time off.
