curious46 0 Posted November 16, 2011 I have a surgery date of Dec. 16. At one of the classes they told us to stop dieting and eat sensibly. I dont know how not to diet! I've put on a couple of pounds since my last meeting and I find myself panicking about the surgery. Well not really the surgery but the idea of failing to lose weight and keep it off. What if I fail? Does anyone else have this fear?
loretta\ Baconton Georgia 10 Posted November 16, 2011 having fear is a part of who we are. I am just going through the process of getting it approved. I fear that I will not get approved. I fear that I have worked all year for this and will not loose my weight, and that I will disappoint myself. It is natural but you have to make yourself think positive. it is har but you can do it. and so can I!
NJGirl32 43 Posted November 16, 2011 But what if you don't fail? What if you finally get control of your weight issues for once and for all? What if you succeed? What if for the first time in your life you feel in control and confident? What if 1 year from now you are a completely changed person, happier and healthier. You can focus on the negative what ifs-but don't forget the positive what ifs too! My favorite quote: “Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness, that frightens us most. We ask ourselves, 'Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, and famous?' Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing Enlightened about shrinking so that people won't feel insecure around you. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It's not just in some of us; it's in all of us. And when we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.”
Cindy C 150 Posted November 16, 2011 LOL!!!! When I read the title, I thought you were considering breast reduction surgery!!! Fear of failure is natural. I'm sure we all experienced it. I know I did. You just have to have faith in yourself and follow your doctor's instructions. (Faith and follow....2 more F's!)
