Hi everyone, so I was banded on 11/1/11..i have many complaints, even considering taking the lap band off. Since the lap band, I have a hematoma, still doesnt goe away, moved to Florida and some Dr,s are refusing to see me due to the liabilty, my stomach is sour and swollen, and changing guaze like every 2 hrs, now I am experiecing some chest pain after eating, I wonder what is next, I thought this was the most easiest way than any other diet...I feel depressed! And I am tired all the time! please advise! Thanks in advance.:(

A bit confused as well. You had surgery less than 2 weeks ago and moved to a different state in the meantime? Perhaps a trip back to where you were when you had your surgery is in order so that you can see your orginal surgeon. Sounds like you definitely need a follow up which it is time for anyway.

I lived in Jersey, thats where i had my lap band surgery, on Oct 19 my husband's job send him to Florida, I stay in Jersey for the surgery on 11/1/11 on the 7th I saw my surgeon, everything was ok, so I flew to Fl on the 8th, I speak to my surgeon about all my problems and at the same time been trying to get a Lap Band dr in Fl, most dr's wont take me because of the liabilty, Tomorrow I will find out if another dr will take me for the follow up visit , crossing my fingers, but as of now i have a small hematoma, tomorrow I will go back to the hospital to have my lap band check out to see if anything is ok....I will follow up as much as I can until I can get a Dr, here in Fl, its just relly frustrastng with all these changes!

Ooops, I read your original post in Australian date format and thought you had been having these issues since January! What a relief that part was wrong!

All I can actually offer is kind thoughts and best wishes. I hope you are able to get everything resolved and get started properly on this bandster journey.

Ah, thanks Mimi for clearing that up. I was a bit confused. I hope you have good luck with finding a new doctor in your new town. I am sure it is frustrating and wishing you nothing but the best in your lapband journey.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
