Iluvharleys 15 Posted February 12, 2006 I had to take some last week, I just made sure to flush my pouch with a lot of Water afterwards. You should be fine for a short period of time. Hope you start feeling better!
gentlespirit 1 Posted February 12, 2006 So do you just have to crush them up? Emily
Iluvharleys 15 Posted February 12, 2006 I didn't have to crush mine, but if you are real tight you might have to. I don't have any problem taking pills. Some medications shouldn't be crushed though so you might need to talk to the doctor before doing that.

Firecallie 2 Posted February 12, 2006 Anymore input?
maudeispam 2 Posted February 12, 2006 I'm on a antibiotic for ear infection and the doctor had it ordered in a liquid form. Sure beats trying to get those huge pills down.
paula 4 Posted February 12, 2006 Yes, it IS ok to take most oral antibiotics with the band. But I would recommed you using caution when taking certain ones. amoxi/clav Im thinking this is the generic for Augmentin. Augmentin is an antibiotic that is rough on the stomach. Sometimes nausea, vomiting & diarrhea can occur as a side effect. Make sure you take this med WITH food (not just liquids) - and you may want to increase your yogurt intake as well. The yogurt will help "coat" your banded tummy... and help protect it. Oh, and -while taking this med- try to avoid stomach irritants. :sick hope youre feeling better soon! marebear 0 Posted February 12, 2006 The doctor put me on anitbiotics yesterday. The doctor wrote the prescription for capsules. When I got to the drugstore, I asked the pharmacist to change the capsules to liquid. This way, there is one less problem to worry about while I am sick. I hope you feel better soon.
