Air bubbles/post surg

Recommended Posts

I have found posts for everything except immediately following surgery! Was banded 8th Nov, with hernia repair. Seems to be healing as expected and advised. But EVERYTIME I sip Water or drink any liquid I feel air bubbles escaping, sometimes very painful, almost like water delayed in getting down. Is this normal, or is there issue?

I am 4 days post lap band placement with hernia repair and notice this same thing happening. I figure it has to be due to all the gas that was pumped into the stomach during surgery trying to get out. I am curious though that I get this feeling more as the day goes on. My stomach feels tight and the bubbles become more painful.

The part of your stomach, just above the band hasn't healed yet, every drop of Water that hits it, hurts,

give it a few days and all will be well. As water goes through your stoma

air replaces it and that's what you feel.
