It's definitely not going to kill you. The post op diet can be hard. Just stick to it and you will be on to solids soon!

What you ate does not sound bad. But be careful. Your body is still healing and adjusting to the band. Just make sure to puree and eat really soft, mushy foods. If you have to, add chicken broth to the foods to really soften them up. But really try to stick to liquids as much as you can. Good luck on your journey!! It'll be the best decision you ever made!

Chinese Hot and Sour Soup. Take out all the stuff and just have the broth. Nice break from plain old broth.

This is the hardest phase you'll have to go through after surgery. It's not going to kill you to cheat a little, and at least what you cheated with wasn't too bad, but try to keep on track as much as possible, especially if you felt weird after eating it. You can do it!!!

I had my surgery November 7 th......I was able to go to liquid puree right after surgery.....that's for week 1-2. Puree meat. Puree veges and fruits cottage cheese. Mashed potatoes. Yogurt So I'm very careful. But I am still able to start making good choices for myself.......the dietitian wanted us to get our protien from regular foods....... Weeks 3-4. Soft foods....then on to regular foods............ Hugs Laura

I did liquids for a week and a half and had such heartburn from it that I couldn't take it anymore. I decided to do mashed potatoes and noodle Soup four days before my two week check up which was when I was supposed to start mushy foods. I felt so much better after I put some consistancy in my belly! Do small bites and if it settles well do some more..but don't over do it, throwing up is NOT FUN! good luck!!

I cheated today. I am 2wks post op and I had bread that I baked. I think it got stuck and I am dying. I have burped and thrown up foamy stuff for 21/2 hrs. I will NEVER do that again. I hope I haven't messed anything up.

My sons 1st stuck episode was toast. And I thought was going to die when I tried to eat a a roast beef on a small bun. Worst case of pb'ing ever!

I took 2 nibbles of bread and started coughing. And I'm curious how this happens when all I have is the empty band on me. I am 14 days post op with no restriction. Why must I do liquids??? Grrrr!

I did the same thing. After a week and a half of the liquid diet I couldn't take it anymore (bandster hell for sure) so I took 1/2 cup of mashed potatoes with chicken broth and I made it very very soupy and I was in heaven!! I never ventured towards breads or pieces of meet during my post op, but I had to do something and the mashed potatoes blended with chicken broth did the trick. Good luck to you ;)

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.
