*makes a face* It's awful. I cried for days. Bled too. We had to buy a new bed from all the nasty drainage. I've been banded for a month now and still can't sit up-- ow! Ok, I'm lying and have just been slapped by all my fellow bandsters here. *evil grin*

Seriously, youre going to be sore but people differ so much. Some go out shopping the next day while others take a couple of weeks to get back to normal. It's really not that bad at all.

*smiles* Sorry if I scared you. I'm just in a "mood" today. Watch out LBT you've been warned! *laughs*

When I woke up from surgery the pain was pretty bad but they kept pumping me with drugs aaaaaaaah.... I was hurting for about 2 days and then it started to lesson more and more, I didn't need my pain killers after about the 2nd or 3rd day.

It was worth it though.

Well my pain was alright. I mean I knew I had surgery, and I was glad I was in the hosiptal overnight to get some meds, but to tell you the truth when I went home the next morning, we went to get my pain meds at the pharmacy, and they did not have it, and wouldn't until the next day. They gave me "free" liquid (regular) tynolnol (can't spell), and that is what I used until my pain med came in the next day. I think I took one dose, :tired and I put the rest down the drain. I was back to work in 3 days (I had a sit down job), but I would never recommend it to anyone, I got tired.

But as for pain, not bad, my migrains are worse :phanvan

Remember that everyones pain level is different.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
