It might be... With my insurance, i had one year to have the surgery. I'd call and check! I also think you can use that info to "re submit" ( With my insurance it had to be current within the past two years ) So as long as you don't wait longer than two years you should be good!

This happened to me. I went thew two rounds of IVF with two failed pregancies. The second on was an eptopic so I needed surgery to remove the fetus. The Dr. told me I could get pregant on our own. I did not even give that a second thought, I knew that would never happen for me. Anway, after that I started the Lap Band process, we gave up on having another baby till I lost some weight. I was approved and had my June 8, 2009 surgery date. I went in for my pre-opt visit and they asked if I could be pregnant, no way. They take a blood test anyway. I was getting so excited for my surgery, it was about a week before and I was out food shopping, I was getting stocked up on some food so I could cook and freeze for my husand and 5 year old daughter. My PCP called and gave me the news. She said CONGRATULATIONS, you are PREGNANT.... I was shocked and scared at the same time. After loosing two pregancies I did not want this one which was not threw IVF to fail. I called my husband right away, he was shocked. I went in for blood work to see where my levels were and they were threw the roof. I was already 6 weeks along. So I called the Dr. and told them I had to put my surgery on hold and they said to call us 6 months to a year after having the baby. Our little blessing was born January 11, 2011, Khloe Marie. I marked the calendar for 6 months called the Surgen and becaseu it was over a year I had to have some tests done again, blood work and ekg. They had me meet with everyone in one day so I did not have to deal with coming in several times. They did not feel anything major changed, other than my weight which I was about 20 pounds more. I did however have to loose about 5 pounds before they set a date. I did that and had my surgery on October 3rd of this year. I have lost 40 pounds so far and I could not be happier. It all worked out in the end, we have our baby and I am on the road to a new and healthier me. Good Luck and I hope it all works out for you, sorry for the long story. Krisy

Thanks Tuckersmommy2010 and Krisy. I have an appointment with my surgeon on January 06, 2012. Hope I won't need to start the process all over again. Krisy, How's life with the band? And your little pumpkin?

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
