I had my second fill after not loosing any weight for 3 weeks.

I went from 1.00 to 1.4 after a week it was still hurting to drink coffer or orange juice in the mornings. All I could get down was creamed Soup and puffed cheatos.

The Dr could not belive I gained 1 lb, he took out .2cc for some releif, I go back in 3 weeks.

Dr said I had to be eating really bad food. Cream of (take your pick) twice a day and Carnation instant breakfest in the morning. Sometimes crackers, chips or popcorn just to get something down.

I am getting very disappointed I have only lost 20 lbs since my surgery Oct 8. I have not lost any weight since before Christmas.

Anybody else had this kind of problem.

Hi DL -

Sorry you're disappointed with your progress so far, but it sounds like lack of restriction is not your problem.

I'm sure you knew that cream Soups and cheetos were not going to get you to your goal, and that only being able to eat those kinds of foods was a big sign that you were too tight. Good that you had a slight unfill.

Now that you're at a more comfortable restriction and can eat more nutritious foods, it's time to take a serious look at what you're eating. The band is only a small part of this journey. Yes, it's a super integral part, but it can't do all the work by itself.

No doubt you have read a lot about bandster nutrition, and the "rules" for maximizing the positive effects of being banded. Are you following all the guidelines? Generally men tend to have an easier time losing weight because their muscle mass is greater than a woman's.

If you're interested in troubleshooting your specific situation and receiving advice on how to maximize your success, please post details about your eating/drinking and exercise patterns, and we'll try to give suggestions to help you on your journey.

Good luck!

May be you're not making the right food choices. Lay off the creamy Soups or do one creamy and one broth type Soup per day. As for cheetos, as yummi as they are, you should not have more than 2 or 3 pieces. Have you tried adding some exercise or even walking to your daily routine? Sometimes the body just needs a little push to start losing again.

By the way if you like thick soups but don't want the calories, you can heat some Water about 1/4 cup with 2 tea spoons of flour and stir until smooth. If you can't get it to be smooth then just make sure there are no lumps of undiluted flour. Then pass the mixture through a strainer and into any broth type soup. This will give you a rich texture just like cream soups, of course without the calories!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
