Can't eat much in morning

Recommended Posts

I haven't been eating when I get up because I've never been a morning Water. But I know I need to. This morning I tried to eat and had maybe 4 bites and I am full. I hear a lot of people say you have more restriction in the morning. I haven't had a fill so is that possible? I am not complaining one bit, but I am one of those people who likes to know how and why things work.

Sometimes they give you a small fill during surgery. That's what they did for me and I think it helped jump start things.

Morning is a great time for Protein Shakes when you are feeling a bit more tight.

See if a warm drink will help.

Yeah I remember the dr did tell me that he fills it all the way to check for leaks and then when he drains it he always leaves about 2cc. I forgot about that.

I ate Breakfast up until I got my first and only tiny fill 0.75 cc. After that eating breakfast made me feel like I had a brick in my stomach, so I just ate like a string cheese to hold me over for my workout. Realized that wasn't the best, so now I just have a premier chocolate Protein Shake (Costco) and it gives my Protein a jumpstart with 30 grams.

A Hot Cup of Decaff Tea should help open you up. I know it does for me.

I sometimes heat up my milk or 50/50 milk.water blend. Then add my

Carnation Instant Breakfast to it. It's like hot chocolate.< /p>

I cannot eat anything solid for breakfast. My band seems to be tighter at that time. Along with my coffee, I have a Protein smoothie everyday for breakfast.

The other day my surgeon asked me what I ate in Normal day. He agreed, said most of his patients have a liquid only breakfast.

I am 2 years out from surgery and I have always had the tightness in the morning that you are describing. It's because of acid reflux. Most band patients have problems with acid reflux after surgery even if they never did before. The band restricts the acid from going down into the stomach like it normally would. Lying down means that the acid just kind of sits there. Being up and walking around it's not as tight because gravity takes care of it.

I take one Prilosec before bed and that helps some. In the mornings I only do liquids. Sometimes I'll make coffee and put a scoop of chocolate Protein powder in it to make a mocha coffee (not as good as the real thing but it's okay). If I'm really struggling though, coffee will come back up. I'll either drink a little bit of a store bought Protein shake or try a little hot tea first (no Protein in it just tea). I'll sometimes make a Protein Shake with fat free milk and Protein Powder. You have to experiment. The band turns you into a bit of a mad scientist in the kitchen

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
