SO FRUSTRATED!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Recommended Posts

I am sooooooo frustrated right now. Long story short I was banded almost 6 months ago. Everything was fine until my 4th fill. which ended up being too much. had to go the the ER for an unfill..2 days later back to the doctor for more unfill. well he took out too much now and i dont even feel like i have my band anymore. my doctors office is such garbage as it is soo hard to get an appointment. he is in downtown chicago and my job has been moved to indiana. i lost 9 pounds in the 2 weeks that my band was too tight and have gained back every pound of that in a week! my appetite is out of control. i have people telling me this is when you exercise self control. GUESS WHAT IF I HAD SELF CONTROL I WOULDNT NEED THE DAMN BAND!!!!!!!1  My doctor only does fills on mon and fri. i called tues and he was out of the office on friday, this monday he is booked up, next friday he's only working till 11 am and then going out of town until the 21st!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!AAAGGGGGHHH! I was self pay so my first year of fills is covered, but what good does it do if i cant get in to see the damn doctor,. this weekend i resorted to buying some appetite suppresants until i can get into to see him.

i am sooo aggrevated. whew! i just needed to vent. thanks for listening guys.

has anyone taken appetite suppresants when they didnt have the green zone?

jennifer

someone posted a fill website that list locations that do fills. maybe find a new doctor if yours cant accomodate you. might be able to find it by googling lapband fills also.

I think that I would find a new doc even if my fills were already paid for. Its not worth the frustration staying with this one. Hang in there, we are behind you. Try the chat room for more support and advice when you need instant fix to your aggravation. There may be someone in your area on the chat that could recommend a better doctor.

Do you have a food scale? If not I would buy one instead of appetite suppresants. Measure you food and when it's gone you stop eating.

thanks for all your replys guys. i have decided to just go with the appetite suppresants and make sure i stay in the gym..so far they are working quite well..with no side effects. i wont be able to get back for a fill till the first week of dec. which i guess i'm ok with. i dont have the money to just up and go to another doctor...all of ones i've looked at in this area cost over $200. so i'll just have to wait. i think i have figured out i need between 7.5 cc's and 8 to get a good fill. i can only hope he listens to me. thanks again everyone.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
