Booga 0 Posted February 10, 2006 Why, all the sudden, can I eat like I did before the band? It seemed to happen overnight. I went through a period where everything was thrown up, then I could eat soft things, and now I can eat anything and everything! My problem has never really been hunger - it's all about snacking, and I am so afraid that I have stretched out my pouch with too much food. Do I need a fill? Would that even help? Maybe I need a therapist. :faint: :help:
mrycrltn 2 Posted February 10, 2006 Sounds like you need a fill. Good Luck
princess_n_thep 2 Posted February 10, 2006 Alas, I thought my fill level was perfect too. I had my last one last September. Recently (the past week) I have been chowing and constantly hungry. Not sure if is the shift (graveyard) or needing a fill though. I am just grazing all the damn time. I think I will give it until March and see and then make a decision. donali 57 Posted February 10, 2006 Booga - have you been checked for slippage? If you were throwing up everything, I would get that checked out. Assuming you are not slipped, when was your last fill? How much weight have you lost since then? You may experience a day or two where you feel wide open, and then a return to your normal restriction. How long have you felt wide open? Try chugging some ice Water before you eat to help tighten things up and hopefully slow the passage of food somewhat, if you don't need another fill.
Booga 0 Posted February 10, 2006 have you been checked for slippage? If you were throwing up everything, I would get that checked out. I haven't been back for a check Assuming you are not slipped, when was your last fill? How much weight have you lost since then? I've lost 20 lbs since the fill but I haven't had a fill since October, and that was only .2 cc giving me a total of 1cc. The last fill made me so touchy I didn't want to get another. You may experience a day or two where you feel wide open, and then a return to your normal restriction. How long have you felt wide open? A few weeks now. Try chugging some ice Water before you eat to help tighten things up and hopefully slow the passage of food somewhat, if you don't need another fill. I'll give it a try. kimalicious 5 Posted February 10, 2006 Definately Fill time, you lose weight and you lose fat around your stomach and band giving it more room to get the food down...I would get with your doc.
NJChick 3 Posted February 11, 2006 I'm at the same point as you...can eat like no tomorrow...don't even have to chew... its very depressing. I got my first fill on Wednesday..... ate my first dinner tonight after being on liquids for 3 days. I ate a decent amount of food 2 weeks I'm gonna go for another fill if this one doesn't kick in. MsButterKup23 1 Posted February 12, 2006 I'm pretty much in the same shape. I've lost 20lbs since my last fill and for the past 2-3 days I've been hungry and able to eat a lot more than usual.
vinesqueen 2 Posted February 13, 2006 Yup, you probably need another fill. Don't be so hard on yourself. You are the only you you have. I think that as bandsters our sense of proportions get totally out of whack. Since I've been diagnosed with Cushing's I've successfully manageed to stop counting caloiries. I'm no longer obsessed with every single bite that goes into my mouth, since I'm not going to lose any weight anyway. But I was rushed the other night, and I had a frozen dinner. I checked the calories after I ate it and nearly had kittens. there were 400 calories in that dinner. Freaked me out in a big way. 400 calories! Yikes! I was so upset with myself. I couldn't believe I was eating that much food. So, I had a little heart-to-heart with myself. You see, 400 calories is totally apprporate and reasonable for dinner, lunch and Breakfast. 400 calories 3 times a day is 1200 calories, not a million.
