7 days post opp and I think I ate too much

Recommended Posts

My nutritionist said I could add thinned grits today. First of all, I don't think they were thin enough. I only ate a cup like directed, but I think it was too much. I don't have pain per se, but it's uncomfortble. I feel like I need to burp, but I can't. Am I going to mess something up!? I am freaking out!!!

You are probably not ready for grits yet....sometimes they suggest things and once You try them, they don't go down too well. i'm over 3 months out with my surgery and I just started eating grits 2 weeks ago,and i was still nervous. you will be fine

I feel like this is probably what restriction feels like when you eat too much, but I know my body needs some more healing too though.

I think what you're feeling means you're full. When you get that feeling, stop eating. Nothing to worry about. Just take it easy.

You're not completely healed for about 6 weeks.

I am seriously amazed right now. I've never eaten that little of food and been this FULL. It feels like I ate a TON.

LOL, ^^^ welcome to Lapband life!! It's an amazing feeling when you only eat a 1/4 of what you ate before and feel full. It also depends on what you eat, remember to eat more Protein cause the smoother the food is the easier it is to go down and the more you're able to eat.

I am so jealous. We were banded the same day, but I don't see my doc until Tuesday. I was told that I can't advance my diet until after I see him. I am sooooo tired of Protein shakes; I have been living on nothing but them for three weeks.

I don't see my doctor again. I was banded 9 hours away. I am getting my fills at a fill clinic here. The doc said I could call anytime and I am still in their program, just online, Skype and phone.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
