Wanted to share a great find -

Recommended Posts

Just wanted to share something I found while at my local Wal Mart Supercenter in the grocery section.

They are called Grilled Essentials. Low calorie and low in fat. I absolutely love how easy these are to prepare! Just pop them in the microwave for 60 seconds and walla! They are fantastic. Flavorful and absolutely delicious.

  • Garlic & Herb chicken Breast: Calories 120 per breast, 1.5 grams of fat, 19 grams of Protein
  • Grilled Chicken Breast: Calories 120 per breast, 2 grams of fat, 19 grams of protein

I am in no way affiliated with Hillshire Farm or Wal Mart. I'm just a banded individual that thinks she found something super awesome and wanted to share with her banded friends.

Here's another one to share. They aren't that new but these are great. I used them for wraps but I have seen people make pizzas out of them. They are called Flatout. I add a tablespoon of mayo, mustard, lunch meat, lettuce, onions and Tomato and have a 270 calorie meal. They come in several flavors. I found these in my deli at the grocery store (Krogers).

there's some great products out there isnt there? I feel so guilty whenever I eat anything that comes in a box, I'm a cook from scratch kinda person. But really, read the nutrition label on those wraps - what's so bad about that?

Unfortunately, cooking for five every night, I dont really get to use some of those great convenience products - way way too expensive to use in that kind of volume.

I am a convert though to powdered peanut butter!! WOW! The very thought horrified me when I first heard of it but curiosity got the better of me and how bloody fantastic it is to get to have chocolate Peanut Butter on rice cakes (my very favourite breakfast) without the horrible calories of real Peanut Butter and real nutella! I had to buy it off ebay and import it :-( But I must have more!

Really? Wow, whats it called.

I know what you mean about the 'from scratch' thing. It is healthier and less sodium for sure but I just can't cook every night and I don't have to (no kids and hubby is easy) so these work great for me. I would like to hear more about that chocolate peanut butter!!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
