Could someone, Please Explain to me what restriction is

Recommended Posts

Hello I got banded 4 months ago, and still weight the same!! I have not lost a pound, I am now at a total of 10cc in my 14cc band! 2 weeks ago I got to 10cc, the only difference now is that, I get stuck, with bread, chicken or some meats, Before I was at 10cc I was able to eat anything,

So what is Restriction when you fill full with a cup of food, or when u fill food getting stuck?????

I thought that restriction is when u get full, however in my case I am always hungry the only thing is that now I have to chew chew chew so that my food could go down, I dont get full at all, I could still finish my whole plate of food!!!

what happens now is that I eat and if I get stuck I got to the toilet vomit, then wait 5 minutes go back 2 the table and I am able to finish my food! Why because I am hungry, I will like to not even think of food, or to fill full, I am snacking in between meals, because I am still hungry

dont know just confused!

So is this How I will live for the rest of my life with this tool not loosing any weight and having a hard time eating food?

I rather be Fat and Happy then Fat and miserable!!!!!

I thinks it's when ur full. I try timing myself and only eat for 20 min, and usually after 20min I'm full. But it's a different full, because before I got the band I could eat much more, which mean I ate all my food to the point I was stuff. Now I just eat until I'm satified not hungry and not stuff. By being restricted it requires for you to eat slowly and get full faster. Hopes this helps.

What restriction means for the lapband is this: A small amount of food 1/2 to 3/4 cup of food (solid food not sliders) at meal time is enough that you are satified and lasts for 4 hours until your next meal. Restriction isn't mean to keep you from eating most foods although foods that bunch up or clump together such as bread and rice are genereally not band friendly and are mostly avoided for that reason. I really don't like the term restriction because most people do not understand the term as it relates to the band. Perhaps the word saiety should replace it.

I feel you on this. I am almost a year and a half out from banding and have very seldom had what others describe as restriction (i.e. feeling full).

I have either I-can-eat-anything.... OR.... I have OW-stuck-and-must-vomit. If it's the latter, then, like you, I can usually go back 5 minutes later and eat anything..... well, except firm Protein - I've had to develop some tricks to get chicken/fish/tofu/eggs/pork to go down.

Mine is definitely not at your level of fill, though. I'm only at 2cc, and still get stuck very very often.

Just wanted to say you aren't the only one.

My band works (at least nominally) because I'm terrified of causing myself pain. Loss post-banding (I lost over half my total in the pre-op diet months), has been EXTREMELY slow, but at least I'm not gaining. So, thinking of it as a maintenance tool for me has kept me from getting TOO down about it. Maybe that's the approach you will have to take too? Hang in there!

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
