PLEASE HELP, over 1 month POST fill and suddenly sick....

Recommended Posts

Sick as meaning, I can't eat and in SEVERE PAIN when I eat a couple of bites. When I do I can only eat a very small amount and have been becoming sick, not vomiting but SEVERE chest pain, CONSTANT burping and a couple of times have thrown up mucus. I asked a question about what zone do you think I'm in about a week ago b/c that is when everything started happening but in the past couple of days, its gotten really bad. I have an appt. tomorrow and have to go for a barium test first (yay) but know someone here must have been through this before.

You would think it was a band that was too tight but how can that happen so far from a fill and happen pretty suddenly after all was fine for almost a month? I wouldn't say great b/c it has been hurting to eat at most times during the last 2 plus weeks.

Does it sound like something more serious than just an unfill? If that was the case, wouldn't I of had problems long before now?

TIA! Hoping someone has an idea of what might be going on.

Banded 6-7-11 and last fill was about 1.5 months ago. Start weight 243 and now 215.

I'm going threw the same thing. It's a pain I know, but I am going in for a unfill Thursday. I wish it was Tomorrow, but I have a 2 1/2 hr. drive each way, and I don't get paid till Thursday for Gas...

I was told that I am to tight, and if you don't stay on Clear Liquids, this will only start up again...

So let me know what they find, because this sucks.

I got a fill about a month ago, and was tight ! I new it, but I also knew that the band will relax.

I was in the Hospital for 3 days, and a Nurse shoved some crushed meds. down my throat...

Well from that point on I have been puking, foaming, and you say your chest hurts. Well on the left side of my chest where the band is.

It won't even open for Water. So I am looking forward to Thursday.

But again let me know what they see.

I definitely think it could be as simple as just getting an unfill. That's definitely what it looks like to me. Hope your appointment with your doc goes well, I think it was smart to make an appointment. Good luck!

Sounds like you need an unfill. I get tight with stress & flying. I am at 6.25 CC's and pretty tight. I have to be really carefull but I am reaching my goal & eating small but healthy! Good luck all!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
