MARKW6 0 Posted October 31, 2011 I had my surgery October 12. It will be 3 weeks Wednesday and my back and below both ribs are still killing me. I saw my Dr. last Monday and he said that all was OK and that it would take time!!! But how long???? I was using the liquid Vicodin but the crap made me feel funny. Liquid Tylenol did not even dent the pain but 2 Motrin helped. What about you guys???? Any help!!??? Mark

My back is killing me and below my ribs it is still sore. The tylenol does nothing and the percoset that I had did nothing either. My doctor won't let me take motrin, so he is going to give me a Rx for a motrin substitute. I have been told it's normal too and that it will get better, but I am at my wits end. I am sick and tired of feeling sick and tired. My back pain is in the middle of my back...where is yours? I am trying to do push-ups, not the regular kind, but pushing myself away from the wall and from my kitchen counter to see if it will strengthen my back muschles. I wish I had some answers....maybe someone else?

Kiskis 56 Posted November 3, 2011 I had the same pain. It takes time. I went for a massage 2x/week for about 8 wks. I go for deep tisue massage every week. Good luck! It is worth it!
Karen*4041 1 Posted November 3, 2011 I agree with KisKi, It sounds to me like during surgery you might of strained something.Massage Therapy would help if this is so.Go easy on the heating pad, if it is a stain and not gas, heat could increase inflamation, like a sprained ankle heat would not be suggested. I always use Ice for a strain, no more than 15 minutes though, after 15 minutes your body may think it is freezing and send blood to the area, thus increasing inflamation. Another thing I found good for gas is a probiotic, it really helped me. Good Luck, Karen
