Hello everyone!

I'm going to my doctor tomorrow to discuss weight loss, in my experiences with tricare providers they're VERY reluctant to prescribe FDA approved medications. I'm 5'3" 195 lbs 34.5 BMI. I lost about 30 lbs on phentermine and kept it off for along time, I had to FIGHT for that 18.5 mg phentermine.

My husband deployed and I moved to a new city so I fell off the weight loss bandwagon. So here I am again, counting calories, going to zumba trying to get back to the healthy lifestyle I had and want.

I'm open to lapband or phentermine/adipex again, I'm hoping this PCM will understand and do their job as a doctor.

Anyways, I'm 23, I have a 3 yr old son and I live in Las Vegas NV.

I live just down the road from you (130 miles) and understand the temptations. I know the best buffets

and the good steak houses, where they still have $1 shrimp coctails. You're going to have to forget

all that and learn new eating habits. There are some people here who had their WLS in Tricare, but

check their BMI requirements. Good luck.

Hello to all. I wish I had learned about the lap band years ago. I am 69 years old today and my surgery date is Nov. 21st with Dr. Billly in Ventura, CA. I know I am not the oldest bandster, but I haven't read about others my age. I'm wondering how they did. I'm expecting the weight might come off a little slower that for the young folks, but I really plan to have a much better quality of life for myself by the time I hit 70. I started at 320, am 300 now and know that reaching anywhere under 200 will help my health tremendously. My surgeon is wonderful and his office team and support groups are the greatest. I feel well-armed and ready. I've jumped through all the hoops and now is the lull period just waiting for my big date. Reading so many of your success stories here has helped me ever so much.

Betty, I'm a few years older than you and I had the easiest surgery possible. To date

I've lost 50 lbs in a little over 2 months. Believe me, age has very little to do with it, its all

attitude.

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
