You can do this! I know it's really hard but it's SO worth it! I had to do a 2 week clear liquid diet before AND after. I thought I was going to die... but I got through it! Just remember there are far worse things than being hungry... namely- your surgeon closing you back up because you didn't follow the diet! You are so close- Hang in there!! :)

Hang in there! Just think of your pre and post surgery diets as setting you up for success for the rest of your life. You've made the toughest decision of all, to have the surgery, now just do everything that you can to make it successful for yourself.

I am loving love with my band, seven months, 102lb. This morning I actually jogged!

Good luck.

Hello everyone, I am 3 days post op and had to do 2wks liquids before surgery as well. I am not experiencing any hunger since surgery but I hear that everyone is different. I have started blogging about my pre and post op experience if you are intetested, check it out. Ive posted several easy recipes to break the monotony of drinking meals as well as things to help me through my days of bandster hell, as some might say...but I dont think its that's bad. Follow this link http://bandipes.blogspot.com

I found alit of other peoples blogs very inspiring while preparing for surgery and I hope that I, too, can be helpful.

I found that Protein Shakes, help take the edge of. But good shakes not cheap junk that don't have much Protein.< /p>

Also the thicker the better. It fills the void Sip on them throughout the day.

It's curious how each doctors approch differs, I had my final pre-op yesterday, getting banded on the 18th, and my pre-op check list doesn't have anything for liquid only, execpt for the day prior to the surgery, where it's Clear liquids only, at 3pm it says take 2 Dulcolax, then at 5pm mix a whole bottle of Miralax with 64oz of Gatorade and drink 8oz every 10 - 15 mins until gone, and that's it... I couldn't fathom doing weeks with no solids before surgery, after is sort of a no brainer... Good on you folks for being strong enough to deal with it.. I hope I can be just as strong!

That's just to make sure that you are cleaned out, and empty. After the surgery you will get a different Diet.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

Am feeling this right now. My surgery date is 4/1. Sign the consent tomorrow. I feel like I overloaded myself with too much info, too many opinions. Got to the point where I was wondering if I should do this. Then I thought of my reasons for taking this step and that settled my nerves. Still get moments of doubt but am striving forward. Am just going to follow my book from the surgeon. Joined this because I was told by my dietician that I should do this for support
