Monica2683 0 Posted October 28, 2011 Ok, before my surgery back in May I was taking nexium for what I thought was for my upset stomache issues, the doctor said the nexium would help and I wouldn't be in the bathroom all the time, well it did work. BUT my surgeon said nexium is for heartburn or acid reflux and I have never had either of those. Anyway, I am 5 months out from my surgery and as of last week I started waking up with bad pains in my chest, which I was told sound like heartburn or acid reflux and like it hurts to eat or drink stuff, I don't throw it up, but it does hurt. I wake up in the morning with bad pains, as I type this, it hurts. I saw my doc this past Tuesday and he said he isn't too concerned, but he wants me to have an upper gi, but I am not having that done for 5 more weeks, so apparently he isn't all too concerned. Question is, has anyone experienced these pains? Is it normal?

rn2012 6 Posted October 30, 2011 Could it be your gall bladder? I had mine removed four years ago and it felt like chest pain and it felt like I was hvg a heart attack
Monica2683 0 Posted October 30, 2011 I don't know, I just thought it was weird to have pains in my chest I have never had before. I didn't know if it had anything to do with the band or not. Could it be your gall bladder? I had mine removed four years ago and it felt like chest pain and it felt like I was hvg a heart attack
roziecakes 20 Posted October 30, 2011 Here is another vote for Gall Bladder. I haven't had this problem personally, but from what I've heard from others, having gall bladder pains does almost feel like a heart attack. I would talk to your doctor though, and see if they have any insight. They know your medical history better than we do. Best of luck!! Hope you feel better. CindyBklyn 4 Posted October 30, 2011 Another vote for gallbladder - an attack feel exactly like you're describing and then it goes away. Good luck!
