Is Unjury Worth the Cost?

Recommended Posts

Hello! I'm two weeks post-op and keep reading about people using Unjury brand Protein shakes/products. I'd love to hear from some users about these - are they really that tasty? And what about the Vitamins? Most vitamins are huge and I'm wondering if the Unjury ones are small so as to fit through the band....thanks for your help!

You can order samples from Unjury to try for yourself. Don't buy till you've tasted things. I made the mistake of buying big containers from them before I had surgery, but discovered after surgery that my taste buds were totally different, and I didn't care for the taste any longer. I ended up tossing out the containers because they got old. The taste pre-op was fine. I liked it. Post-op, not so much. Since you're already post-op, you may find you have a different experience.

I tried their vitamins, but found them large and chalky. I ended up getting "Bariatric Advantage" brand vitamins from my surgeon's office. They were more expensive, but easier to get and worked well for me.

I love my unjury more than any of the other ones.

I don't find Unjury to be any better or worse than many of the others. After what I have is used up I will not be buying any more as it is simply too costly considering the price of other Proteins.< /p>

I think that Unjury is the best Protein that I have tasted, I've tried many brands and found that drinking them is a task for me they have a very heavy taste, and I have to force myself to drink them, On the other hand I find Unjury very enjoyable I buy the unflavored and add it to my coffee and crystal light and it doesn't change the flavor or texture, it's a little more expensive, but well worth it.

I have the unflavored as well, which I add to some things, but I can still smell and taste it.

I love it. I tried the sample packets first because most companys don't offer that too you then your stuck with nasty products.. but I love Unjury i still use it 3 months after surgery i have to shakes a day but i make double shakes and freeze them to make them like a frosty and i have them between meals.

I ordered the sample packs as well. I started with the chocolate shakes for Breakfast this week...they are yummy!! I have the strawberry sorbet pack in my purse to drink this afternoon mixed with my sugar free lemonaid. I love how you can order sample packs and try them before you order a huge container.

I thought they were worth it. I ordered two sample packs and now post op, have ordered the containers. I didn't like the chicken broth post op so just the unflavored, chocolate, vanilla and strawberry. I did the same with other companies and other stores and am sticking with Unjury.< /p>

I definitely think Unjury is worth the price. You have to be careful with a lot of the Protein Shakes out there on the market as they can be high in calories. I trust everything that is in the Unjury and that alone is worth the price to me :D

Hey Stacie,

I'm in STL as well, GO CARDS! I use powders?utm_source=BariatricPal&utm_medium=Affiliate&utm_campaign=CommentLink" target="_ad" data-id="1" >unjury, and like everyone has said, buy the sample packets and try it out first. I like it better then some of the others I've tried, but everyone is different.

another vote for Unjury. I tried lots of different brands out there and the only one I actually like is the Unjury brand. I still drink a shake every morning and i was banded June 2010. It is pricey - I order online - about $19 a container. chocolate is my favorite of all the flavors. Vitamins - I just used kids chewables and would take 2/day. I used them during my postop phase - on a 6 week full liquid diet, I no longer use them since I get plenty of nutrients from veggies & such.

Let me toss my hat in. I've tried quite a few protein's, Myoplex, Muscle Milk, Synthia-6, unjury, Intek, Isopure.

Unjury isn't worth the money. Sure it does have a good taste, but so does other flavors of other brands. Isopure so far has been the best Protein I've had, zero carbs, fresh fruity flavors as well as the milk shake style flavors. It's not overly expensive and it packs the best Protein per scoop I've seen, and all with *ZERO* carbs..

Your best bet, go to a local fitness shop, see if they do samples, taste them all, find one you like, and go with that one. Unjury just seems a bit pricey for how little you actually get from it compared to other products, but, to each their own.

I have to correct myself here. I did repurchase the Unjury unflavored at my doctor's office again. After trying to mix in some others with things I had used the Unjury unflavored in, it just wasn't the same. So I take it all back, I will purchase again.

The unjury shakes are about the same as other brands, in my opinion, except maybe they dissolve better and faster. I sometimes put them in my coffee.

But the chicken Soup from Unjury is great, especially in the winter. I think that is worth it.... the protein/calorie ratio is the best found anywhere, and it tastes delicious. You just have to be careful to mix it with warm and not hot Water.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
