HeatherGurl 0 Posted February 9, 2006 Why in the world would you want to do something like that?
Alexandra 55 Posted February 9, 2006 Beccamay, are you asking to have your membership deleted? Or just to stop getting e-mails? You can stop the subscription feature by going to your User CP (Control Panel) and edit your subscriptions to stop sending you e-mails. If you want to have your membership and all your posts deleted, that's another story. Please let me know what you're after. Thanks!
beccamay 1 Posted February 9, 2006 I am wanting to get my membership deleted. The reason for doing so is that i have encompassed my whole "lose weight" purpose on getting this surgery. I have been denied by my insurance company and there is no way on god's green earth that i can afford to pay for it myself. I do not like checking my email box and seeing nothing but replies back from postings. I had my heart set on getting this so I could have a child and have been turned down time and time again. Not like being overweight is stress enough on my "well-being" it seems that all my hope and dreams of being a mother have gone down the drain. It seems that everything that i want in life is just a bag full of money away. Why should have this been any different. Its like insurance companies don't like that they have to pay when you have complications of being overweight but yet they don't want to help give you a tool to acheive sucess. God forbid you try to save them some money in the long run. So i was wanting my memebership to be deleted so that way i can let go of this dream that won't come true. becca

beccamay 1 Posted February 9, 2006 THe insurance company required me to go through the 6 months of doctor guided diet, then they said they weren't paying for my initial visit to the surgeon or the office visits because it wasn't preapproved. so now i am out of it for sure. I am not sure how safe it is for any of the alternate surgerys, the lap band seemed the safeest
Anwyn 0 Posted February 9, 2006 Just another thought to throw in the mix... there are several people on this board who are "flying solo" without a band (either due to complications or by choice). There is some great support available here to help you meet your weight loss goals. I'm so sorry that the band isn't working out for you. Keep your chin up - there are people out there losing without a band! (((HUGS)))
Archermom 0 Posted February 11, 2006 Becca, if you are still on this forum , please stay on here! I don't know if you have heard that in germany they are having trials with remote controlled lab bands, but they do. And on the germany forum sombody that is in that test group stated that a member of the company that makes the band stated to her they are going to start trials here in the US this year. :secret: If this shoud be true you could try to get into the trial and that would involve no cost on your side beside maybe travel expences as I don't know where and what hospitals they would pick to do the trial. I will keep this thread open and add more info as I learn of it. Please Becca , don't give up
SEAGLD 0 Posted February 14, 2006 I don't know if you have heard that in germany they are having trials with remote controlled lab bands, but they do. No, sorry, they don't. I'm the one you talked about, and it's not a lap band. It's called FloWatch and is not filled with liquid at all. It's with a small motor. And on the germany forum sombody that is in that test group stated that a member of the company that makes the band stated to her they are going to start trials here in the US this year. :secret: Yes, that's true. I don't know when and where, but the employee of EndoArt (that's the company who mades the remote controle adjustable gastric bandings) told me they would start one - and I'll get more information when they know more. If this shoud be true you could try to get into the trial and that would involve no cost on your side beside maybe travel expences as I don't know where and what hospitals they would pick to do the trial. That's true again. U just have the diving costs - and the time. Everything else is paid from the producer. For the German trial u just needed to have a BMI from 40-50 and no heart or digestion illness. Greetz, Sabine
