onmyway11 43 Posted October 25, 2011 I had the sane problem. Someone here told me I was probably dehydrated. I doubled my Water and felt wayyyy better the next day. I took it easy at work and home for 3 weeks then I turned a corner and felt close to 100 percent. I was Clear Liquids for 2 days then carnation instant Breakfast shakes for 2 weeks then mushies. Unfortunately I can eat anything now at 4 and a half weeks. Waiting for my first fill! Can't come fast enough. Good luck
size10again 11 Posted October 26, 2011 Whenever you are awake you need to be sipping liquids. You are probably dehydrated. I think I went to Protein Shakes around day 3. Maybe get some gatorade to sip in addition to Water and juice.< /p> Joan
DebHart71 3 Posted October 27, 2011 I have gotten light headed and almost past out a few times; even when I was still in the hospital. I sit or lay down with a fan on me and it goes away. I will have to see if extra Water helps. I was banded on 10/19 and still on clear liquids. I am very much looking forward to full liquids though; I am sick and tired of broth. I go to my surgeon's office for my first post-op follow-up visit tomorrow and should be cleared for full liquids. Debora
CheckYes 46 Posted October 27, 2011 Drink a glass of low sugar apple juice. I had major headaches and found that if I drank about four ounces of juice it helped so much. No Protein shakes for six days?!?! Wow. I was allowed shakes the next day
LB4Me 35 Posted October 27, 2011 Drink apple juice watered down. Then Water, water, water. As soon as you can, start drinking Protein Shakes again.
Tanya_cotto 5 Posted October 27, 2011 I was on Protein shakes the same day! Had surgery at 6am then was drinking a shake (made with water) at 1pm! I agree with the above comments, make sure you're getting about 6oz every hour you're awake I, too, was light headed so i had to add Gatorade and fruit juices to my diet. It also sounds like you need more rest/recovery time. Listen to your body when you return to work. If you need more time off, don't be afraid or ashamed or proud to ask for it It'll be worse in the long run.

Journeyseeker 0 Posted October 31, 2011 I am on clear liquids for a week then after my week follow up I should be able to start "full" liquids including Protein shakes. I have been feeling good no issues with being light headed. i am 4 days post op and having a hard time. i feel really light headed. did/does anyone else feel this way? dr. said i might need an iv. i am dreading that. supposed to go back to work tomorrow. how long did you stay out of work? last thing...am i the only person whose dr doesnt start Protein Shakes until day 6 or 7? Kiskis 56 Posted November 3, 2011 Take it slow! Yes sip Water, juice & when on the Protein you will perk up. I would go, go and just crash. I over did it the first week. I was like a baby and had to nap 1-2x/day. Don't over do it!
#MagicWithinme 173 Posted February 15, 2012 I need to try the gatorade, and juices, I told me lp dr and he said it was probably the pb meds i was on, but I know I don't drink anything but Water and Protein drinks... thanks..
soundlogik 28 Posted October 19, 2014 I am 6 days post op, mostly clear liquids with boost in the morning to give me some energy. I've been feeling light headed I think it may be I need more Water. I'll try and see how that goes. As for feeling hungry I would say I'm pretty satisfied with what I am taking in during the day.
