formykids2 4 Posted October 25, 2011 No I dont mean throwing up either THANK GOODNESS! I am just under 2 weeks post op and feeling under the weather. I dont know if this is me truely getting sick or if I am just so run down after the surgery. I did have a rough time with pain after, and I am finally feeling more human with the ability to move and bend and walk distances so I am very thankful, but I am SO tired and just feel cruddy. Is this a common post surgery thing that I can help get myself out of or am I looking at the beginnings of getting sick :-( * I am getting at least 30-40 grams of Protein (that is all I can manage to get in right now and dr said it is ok for the short term since I am not eating much), I do take B 12 sublingual, and Calcium and Vitamins, and ALWAYS have Water with me* Any advice would be greatly appreciated! It took me about four weeks to feel completely normal. Dr. said it was due to the trauma to my abdomen, duh. Give it another week or two.
formykids2 4 Posted October 26, 2011 well I woke up with an earache and sore throat so it wasnt just healing, although I prob was more likely to get sick because of trying to heal. Oh well.
Jachut 487 Posted October 27, 2011 Hope you feel better. A surgery is a big deal for your body and will weaken your immune system, you're much more likely to pick something up. I often find I get sick if I really kick the exercise up a notch and I will ALWAYS get sick if I go for a swim in an indoor public pool. Yet I can work in a classroom full of five year olds and not pick up a sniffle.
123crod 170 Posted October 28, 2011 You could have picked up something in the hospital. A little infection or virus. My dr said it is not unusual to leave with something. But you just might need more time to finish healing. It is hard on our bodies and to some (me) it is an emotional thing too. I hope you feel better really soon.
