starting to feel discouraged... help please!

Angie, I was banded 7/5 and have lost 44 lbs so far, hang in there...there's no rhyme or reason to how much weight one person looses compared to another. I've been in the "green zone" and after a while it starts to feel like before I had surgery, that's how I know it time for another...it's like the "green zone" keeps moving. LOL!

WOW, THIS WAS AN AMAZING AND MUCH NEEDED POST! I KNOW I FEEL A TAD BETTER WHEN I READ THESE CAUSE I COME TO REALIZE IM NOT ALONE! I WAS BANDED AUG 31 2011 AND IM DOWN 29 LBS AND STUCK HERE! IVE HAD 2, YES, 2 FILLS AND HAVENT LOSS ANYMORE WEIGHT! I HAVE TO ADMIT, I DO FEEL A LOT MORE RESTRICTION FROM THE SECOND FILL. IM NOTICING IT IN A FEW CLOTHING ITEMS, BUT SHEESH...WHY ARENT I LOSING ANYMORE WEIGHT? I KNOW THE BAND CANT DO IT ON ITS OWN AND I NEED TO APPLY MYSELF IN THE EXERCISE DEPARTMENT. SO, WITH THAT BEING SAID, IM GOING TO TAKE THE ADVISE OF ALL THE KIND PEOPLE THAT REPLIED AND TRY NOT TO BE DISCOURAGED! THANK YOU FOR SHARING THIS POST AND I HOPE WE ALL GET THROUGH THIS ROUGH SPOT IN OUR BANDED JOURNEY/LIVES! THANKS AGAIN AND GOOD LUCK.

Thank you dawn! Let me know how the fill goes, I have my first one on november 2nd

The fill was fine. She said my port moved quite a bit and it did take 5 pokes but she numbed it with lidocaine so I couldn't feel it at all. I had 2 ccs in it so she only added 2 more. Now I am on liquids today and tomorrow, then soft foods for a couple days and then normal diet so I am anxious to see what I can handle and what I can't. Good luck!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
