Hello all, I was a member here quite some time ago and I sort of fell off the wagon. I have felt terrible for the better part of a year, just been lay and not eaten right at all. i had gained all but about 30 pounds of the weight I had lost back. About a week ago my stomach started to hurt from overeating and I thought what the hell am i doing? I am now back on liquids. I think it has been 31/2 days on liquids only.

I am gassy and feel exactly like I did following surgery. I don't suggest making yourself miserable prior to getting back on the wagon. But I am back on it and down to 203 from 207-217 (kinda up and down as is normal).

Anyway I am glad to be back and hoping my profile has my old ticker saved? Then I can see where I was and where I am?

Zana, I don't know if you'd be interested, but there is a new method to help people

get back on track. It's called the "five day band test". Look it up (on this forum),

and if you want to give it a try, it might help. Best of luck.

I am just going back to what my doctor advised when we started this 5years ago. I am losing so it is fine. Just hoping the band is ok and will stay that way. Kind of feel like this is my second chance and I have to take it and do the hard way.

Thanks Mimi and julia. I appreciate the support! It has not been near as hard of a week as I had thought! I am officially down 14pounds. No bouncing on the scale above 203 so that is good. I can not complain at all.

I need to just stick around and be a part of this community. I really did well with it for a very long time. I only ever had 2 fills and lost down to a size 7 and stayed there a year. So I know the thing works.

I feel much better the gas and swelling are all but gone. I have always had restriction. Even with only 1 or 2 small fills. I will stay on clears one more week, so til monday November 1st. Then I will go to smoothies/protein shakes for probably a month as well? Depending on how I do?

It does not even come close to sucking when weighed against my life, health or my band.

Thanks again!

P.S.

How do add a ticker? I could not figure it out before and I still can not?

Zana, Just click on anyone's ticker and it'll take you to the site and you go from there.

I created a ticker but I can't figure out where in User Profile to add it or how to create a sig?

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
