Nix 1 Posted October 20, 2011 My scale measures body fat by electrical impulses. Before Lap Band I was at a fluctuating 41-42% according the the scale. Now I have lost about 50 pounds yet according to this scale I have only lost about 1% body fat, what gives? I know I have lost some muscle but I seriously doubt I have lost 25 pounds of muscle. Jachut 487 Posted October 21, 2011 Id say it was inaccurate! Losing even a lot of weight often makes much less visible difference to your body when you have a lot to lose and by the same token your actual fat percentage doesnt drop like you would think, whereas you get down to normal weight and lose 10 lb it makes a huge difference on both counts. But 1% seems unlikely. Well done on 50 lb!
